Plastics leech petroleum byproducts, such as Bisphenol A and several dioxins that are toxic to humans. The are estrogen pollutants that bind to testosterone and inteferes with the production of estrogen. Even food grade plastic does this from food packaging to water bottles to the water cooler.
Sperm rates are plummeting in man and woman are hitting puberty earlier.
Plastic is one of the most toxic substances on earth for it's long-term damage to our planet and the sexual
NPR has recently publish a story based on a gourmet restaurant technique which is slow cooking items in plastic bags called Sous Vid. The NPR story is enough for me never to ever, ever want to eat in a gourmet restaurant.
Only recently did people stop buying nalgene bottes because the plastic had BPA or Bisphenol A, but the truth is that many things do, and if it isn't BPA there are other estrogen pollutants in plastics.
From the Story:
"Once you've cooked a perfect piece of salmon, you'll never want to eat salmon at a restaurant anymore because it's always going to be overcooked — unless they're doing sous vide, of course," says Eric Wilhelm, who runs a DIY website.
Convenience has a big price tag in plastic. And it is amongst petrochemicals ways of poisoning a body made to handle natural substances. There are poisons in nature but these chemicals in nature have a cocktail effect especially when a mixture of these toxins accumulate as years of production go by.
Toxins in our environment our already violated permissable levels and babies developing in this toxic environment will feel the effects.
But hey who cares did you try it with Salmon slow cooked for 2 days?
