Often there are theories to dismiss this.
In theory one, better technology exists to detect cancer makes an assumption that doctors were too ignorant to know what cancer was when people had it, which they often did just by the sight of this person wasting away. They did have statistics back there.
And second, the theory that people live to a long enough age to develop cancer. I believe this theory has more validity since cancer cells naturally exist in out bodies and a strong immune system and body function to kill cancer cells. This ability wears down with aging.
However, it falters on the fact that more younger people are developing cancer. Just like childhood type 2 diabetes, cancer is becoming more prevalent amongst kids.
Even if you dispute one of the substances as being poisonous, can you dismiss that all the risk factors which are driving cancer rates up: like being overweight, air pollution, hormonal imbalances, inflammatory responses to allergens, or eating transfats? Some of those claims have to be legitimate.
In the world many toxic substances form what is called the cocktail effect. Our body builds toxicity from many different substances we exposed ourselves to or our inadvertedly exposed to and it puts accumulating stress on our bodies defense system.
What what can be done about this? To really avoid toxins we must choose carefully where we live and what we are exposed to as much as possible. Its impossible to avoid toxins in a natural environment, but our bodies are equipped to handle low levels of toxicity. It's harder to be healthy on a sicker planet but people can strenghtne their bodies defenses to cancer.
Exercise, a healthy diet, meditation, and other strategies(or whatever you wish to call it) act together to bring longer life to those with cancer and to those who have a strengthening effect on people. Often dismissed to easily is the effect of positive energy on your state of mind and your bodies ability to thrive.
However, there is no magic bullet to anything. Modern medicine attempts to do this have failed. There is no herbal plant in South America that cures everything. Rather it's a series of co-factors to promote good health and happiness that lead to a viable life.
What can be done from all this is have a longer viable life. A viable life is the time in our life in which we are not confined to a bed or on some life support system. Why want to live to a certain number or under a certain number when you can aim to be strong and healthy instead?
