Getting Fit
I feel myself pulled in different directions lately. I think that's because there is so much I want to do and I'm trying to do without it. But lately, I'm concerned about losing weight. The winter was very cold this winter and I put on weight. Not fat, but I'm definately stocky these days.
I'm still skinnier than I was in previous points in my life and including when I arrived here. However, interesting things happened to get me to put weight on.
When I was a vegan I was really hypoglycemic. I had trouble maintaining my blood sugar constant. Hypoglycemic is when your blood sugar drops suddenly but really its really the failure to remain grounding. Just to stop my energy level from plummeting I ate a lot of sugar which put on some weight.
The other was stress. My muses were pulling me in too many directions at once and it was hard to get stuff done. I was studying Korean, and reading environmental studies, studying gardening, and wild foods and shopping from special stores and there didn't seem to be much time.
Just recently I've found a balance in my diet and my blood sugar is good. So I plan on getting back to basics with my diet that combines diet and exercise that I had last year and certain rules.
Eating: Eating until I feel almost full and then stopping. Eating slowly. Not eating after 8pm.
Relaxing: Rest when I'm tired and not push myself like I did over the winter. Doing yoga was great and doing it everyday before school was even better.
Exercise Less/ Play More: I will play outdoor sports everyday I can. I will only do body weight exercises 2x a week. I will sprint once a week. The rest of the week I will either do moderate exercise or rest. But more important than all this things is that I'm finding ways to have fun.
Fasting Once a Week: I feel great and it puts me in a different place.
I'm starting with this and I have to progress onto other things and maintain some flexibility.
The goal in mind is that I want to be able to do rope climbs.
Let's play.
