He has expressed interest in my idea for herbal beers. Something which I think could be great!
I've taken initiative in bringing his message to other people and helping him. I see a future with this man and I want to help him and his cause.
As I become more skilled I can help more.
One project, which had preoccupied me for the rest of my time was an ecostove which uses very little wood. I am a novice so I needed help and asked a lot of questions to implement my design.
Over the course of days we had to wait for a part here or to get back a tool a friend had borrowed. The day before Yang I cut the top of a gas can and the tubing. Then a friend with a blow torch cut the whole in the top.
On Saturday I did the outer welding for the tube.It was my second attempt at welding and I feel very proud of my efforts.
Some friends told Yang that what I was doing was too dangerous when they saw me. Yang reassured them that I need practice. I really admire that he gives me these opportunities. He is confident in my ideas.
I finished with some left to do, but there were other projects to complete. I interviewed Yang which I may or may not post. I felt I could have interviewed him better at the time, but I will need to check the video to be sure.
When I understand him more I can interview him better.
He invited me to pa-cho. Which is the time before harvest when Koreans Buddist weed and clean the family grave.
"I can explain to you organic farming very easily there. Do you want to come?"
"Yes," I said enthusiastically.
And... I took my test. I completed 2 hours of meditation with him and 2000 cuts of the gumdo sword. I passed. I am now a student of Yang's way of living. His only student. It was all very incredible.
He took me to dinner. We ate pollock in some peanut sauce with rice and banchan. He then took me home.
He drove me home.
He gave me a look before I got out.
"There is never enough time," he said.
"I'll see you again," I said.
And then we said goodnight.
