Simple Meals, Complex Pleasures

This summer, my wife, S, and I have been tasty meals occasionally together.

We grilled up some tasties on the mountain. S, pork belly and some Grouper for me.

S, being English, can make curry. She made some curry and took my yogurt and made it into a sauce. The bagettes were toasted and cut.

This was not India food, it wasa delicious English curry. I suspect know of us has ever really tasted Indian food just like many of us have never tasted real Chinese food.

Hmmm, delicious....

Normally, though S and I are on different schedules, so I'm making stuff for me. This was peppers and onions grilled with crushed black pepper and beef served with homemade yoghurt. For drinks there was lemon water and a cheap stout.

Rice cooked with beef, onions, seaweed, garlic, and cumin and simmered until done.

Something light tonight. Homemade radish kimchi, with chive and garlic rice with a chaga tea for a drink.

This was miyookguk or seaweed soup, which consisted of seaweed and beef and fish broth served with more radish kimchi.

I've started to make bimbimpap a lot.  This was sans gochu paste because I've been making pepper sauces and I don't have a taste for them.

I don't have a lot of time to cook so I cook simple meals that are tasty. These foods I consider an upgrade of what fast food can be. All took me 15 minutes to cook.
