The idea of living in small and primitive houses has become more popular claims a Korean design magazine article entitled, " Small House Idea Becomes Popular." (생각이 커지는 작은 집)
The article here taps into a subculture a subculture of people I have met that are moving to the countryside to live a simpler lif. I have met organic farmers and a mason, of no relation to each other provices that had built earth houses of different designs, some more modern than others.
The author of the article notes this is a lifestyle choice which embraces simple living.
Living in the house makes you simple he sates.
Although I think a simpler life is getting more popular, I don't agree with the author's use of the word popular. To say something is getting more popular suggests a movement. This style of living is still stigmatized as "dirty" and "archaic" and I don't see this as the mass movement to the countryside that would qualify it as popular. It would be nice to see the younger generation feeling a sense of pride for their ancestors ways- at least to see simplicity as a sign of good character. However, for now confusing everything from the past as dirty and archaic is more popular.
